Steps to approve Debicheck Mandates

First National Bank(FNB)

  • Bank App - Review the notifications, click "Yes, continue," and then choose "Debicheck Debit Order Requests and accept."

  • USSD - Dial *120*321#, Enter 5 digit pin, then follow command prompt and Select option 1 to accept, or option 2 to reject

  • Online banking - FNB will send you an SMS informing you that you need to approve a DebiCheck mandate. Open your online banking account.After choosing the "My Bank Accounts" option, choose "My Debit Orders." There will be a display of all DebiCheck mandates. Select "View Mandates" to view more information. Choose which mandate you wish to approve or disapprove.

  • ATM - Insert your card and enter your PIN. Select Other transactions, then DebiCheck debit orders. Review the DebiCheck debit order details.Approve or reject the debit order.


ABSA

  • Banking App - You’ll get a DebiCheck notification on your phone, Logon to your banking app and open the notification. Review the DebiCheck debit order details.Approve or reject the debit order.

  • Cellphone Banking - Dial *120*2277#, Select option 9. View the list of pending DebiCheck debit orders. Select the one that you want to review and click on Reply. Select 1 to approve or 2 to reject the DebiCheck debit order.

  • ATM - Insert your card and enter your PIN. Select Other transactions, then DebiCheck debit orders. Review the DebiCheck debit order details.Approve or reject the debit order.



Nedbank

  • Banking App - You will log into the Money app. Select your Current Account, that is the account that will be used for the DebiCheck debit order. Navigate to the debit orders tab, then select Mandates to Authorise (mandate means to give Nedbank permission to debit your account). You will select a pending mandate/debit order to action. Review mandate/debit order details. If all the information is correct, select Authorise. Confirmation of successful DebiCheck debit order authorisation screen will be displayed. Final action is to select Done.

  • Cellphone banking - You will be instructed to dial *120*001#. Select DebiCheck by entering the number 5. You will be prompted to enter the first six digits of your South African ID number to be authenticated. You will then be taken to the mandate menu (mandate means to give Nedbank permission to debit your account). where you must choose a mandate to action by selecting the applicable number. Once you have selected the applicable mandate, the mandate details will then be displayed. To view the next page, press *2 and send or to view the previous page press *1 and send. You will be prompted to select one of the following options: 1-Confirm/Authorise the mandate or 2-Cancel mandate. A message confirming that you have authorised the mandate will appear on your phone. You can select: 1-Authorise more mandates or #-Return to main menu.

  • ATM - After inserting your card and PIN at the Nedbank ATM, you will be prompted to authorise pending mandates. You can authorise your debit order immediately by clicking See debit orders or later by clicking Go to withdrawals. Select the mandates (mandate means to give Nedbank permission to debit your account) you wish to authorise or view your active debit order. Choose a pending mandate to authorise. The details of the DebiCheck mandate you need to review will appear and you will be prompted to select one of the options: Authorise the mandate. Decline the mandate. Back-to view the previous page. Once you have authorised or declined the mandate, a confirmation message will be displayed stating whether the debit order request was successfully approved or successfully declined. You can click More options to continue with other transactions or Return card if you are done.



Standard Bank(SBSA)

  • Banking App - You will receive an SMS from Standard Bank stating you have a mandate to authenticate/approve. Log into your mobile banking app (Android | iOS) A message will be displayed advising you that you have a debit order awaiting your review Click on the review link Click on “View Request” Accept or Reject the mandate Click on Accept Mandate Confirmation which will appear as a pop-up message A One Time Pin (OTP) will be sent to your cellphone Enter the OTP supplied to confirm the mandate.

  • Cellphone Banking - You will receive an SMS from Standard Bank stating you have a mandate to approve. Dial *120*2345# Select option 1 Enter your CSP (Customer-Selected PIN) when prompted Select option 5 (DebiCheck) Select the option for the relevant mandate that needs to be approved Debit order details will be displayed Select “Accept” A reference number will be generated.

  • ATM - Insert your card and enter your PIN. Select more options, then DebiCheck debit orders. Review the DebiCheck debit order details.Approve or reject the debit order.



Capitec

  • Banking App - You will receive an SMS from Capitec asking you to approve a mandate Open the Capitec mobile banking app (Android | iOS) and enter your PIN A message will appear stating that you have pending DebiCheck mandates to approve Select “Accept/Decline DebiCheck” From the list of DebiCheck debit orders, select the one you wish to action Accept or Decline the Debicheck mandate A confirmation of your choice will be displayed.

  • Cellphone Banking - You will receive an SMS from Capitec asking you to approve a mandate Dial *120*3279# Select option 8: “Approve Debicheck” Select option 1 to continue Select option 1 to approve, or option 2 to decline Read the relevant disclaimer and select option 1 to continue Enter your mobile banking PIN to Approve or Decline the DebiCheck debit order A confirmation of your choice will be displayed.

African Bank

  • Banking App - An SMS alert will be sent to your registered phone requesting you to action a pending mandate Logon to your Banking App with your secure login details Select the 'Bank' tab, and then click on the 'Manage DebiCheck' option displayed A list of pending DebiCheck mandates will be displayed, click on 'Accept/ Decline' on the one you want to action and click on 'Continue' Once you have confirmed your acceptance of the mandate on your registered cellphone number a confirmation message will be displayed A confirmation SMS will be sent to your registered cellphone number

  • Cellphone Banking - A USSD push alert will be sent to your registered cellphone number requesting you to action a pending mandate Select option 1 to accept the debit order mandate, or select option 9 to reject the debit order mandate. Click on SEND to proceed Confirmation regarding the approved/declined mandate will be displayed Once you have confirmed your acceptance of the mandate, a confirmation SMS will be sent to your registered cellphone number

Bidvest Bank

  • Online Banking - Receive an SMS from Bidvest Bank stating you will receive a USSD message to accept/decline an outstanding mandate Log into Online Banking Navigate to Mandate Management. Here you will be able to search new mandates and view their details Once you have confirmed that the mandate details are correct, accept the mandate. Once you have confirmed your acceptance of the mandate a confirmation message will be displayed.

  • Cellphone Banking - A USSD message will pop up displaying the mandate that needs to be accepted/declined. Select option 1 to accept and option 2 to decline. A confirmation message wlll be displayed. Select option 1 to confirm and option 9 to cancel. A confirmation message will appear displaying your decision to accept or decline You will receive a confirmation SMS displaying your decision to accept or decline



Finbond Mutual Bank

  • Cellphone Banking - Dial *120*3262# Enter your customer PIN (CSP- Customer Selected PIN) Mandates awaiting attention will be displayed immediately Select option 1 to Accept or option 9 to Decline A confirmation screen will be displayed with your choice of transaction An SMS will be sent to notify you of your selection. The SMS will also contain the reference number of the mandate
